The SlutWalk is a transnational movement of protest marches calling for an end to rape culture. Specifically, participants protest against explaining or excusing rape by referring to any aspect of a woman's appearance however this has been broadly expanded upon.
The first SlutWalk protest was marched in Canada, April 2011, after Toronto police officer claimed that women should avoid dressing like sluts in order to avoid getting raped. Shortly thereafter, the first Icelandic SlutWalk was marched in June 2011.
In 2014 I, along with Helga Dögg Ólafsdóttir and Steinarr Ingólfsson, branded the SlutWalk with posters, t-shirts, temporary tattoos, baseball caps and more.
